Cheaper Gas Prices Near Home
I have noticed this month that many gas stations have cheaper gas prices near my home. I have not seen gas this cheap in my area (central east coast) this low in years. About 15 year since they have been this low according to my memory. Its great for all us hot rod guys building performance engines. 87 octane for $1.49 is great for all of us that drive less than fuel efficient vehicles. The picture above was taken at exit 104 on interstate 95 on the east coast in southern VA. The gas was also cheaper in other areas of VA but nothing like that price. In Skippers Exit 4 off 95 was $1.79 which is still cheap but not that long ago gas was at this price.
In October the prices were more but most of them were falling fast. I will try to get some pictures as I travel this winter to show some good prices.
Here are some prices from an October trip.
Since last year at this time gas was almost 4 bucks a gallon and climbing fast. It amazing that the prices have fallen so far in such a short time. Most say this is a bad thing becuase the oil companies are going to loose to much money and some my even close. But sounds great to all of us that have been paying high prices and no reason why they have gotten so high. But now many other producers of oil are on the market and many other producers have increased production in there markets and gas prices have tumbled since then.
